See, this is different than the way I work.
I do not rely on rankings and google traffic, etc.
It is, build it and advertise it.
    Period.

Now, the mashup site I have put up?
$5.62 as of yesterday evening, according to amazon.

How are you advertising your sites? Is there a cost associated with that?

You are right that you cannot depend upon Google traffic with an Amazon site. There has to be another method to drive traffic. I'm just saying that Amazon sites using Amazon product descriptions will not drive Google traffic for very long--if at all.

    Why do you say that?
There are scads of amazon sites out there, and scads making money.

In short, I will do this, I will make money, and I will ignore all negativity about having an amazon site.

There is always a very large gap between those who claim to make lots of money on the web and those who actually do.

I think you are missing my point. There may be scads of Amazon sites out there but few are making money using automated Amazon scripts if they rely on traffic from Google. These sites do get actively filtered out of Google search results and the sites are eventually penalized and banned. I have watched it happen dozens of times with different scripts.

As I keep saying, you can make money as long as you have a alternate method for driving traffic. Just do not depend upon Google.

I was part of a clandestine group consisting of some of the top affiliate marketers who tried to crack this problem a couple of years ago. You would recognize most of their names. No one was able to drive Google traffic to sites using any of the automated scripts for more than a couple of months. The sites initially picked up traffic, grew to a traffic peak, and then crashed in Google search results. We tried using every content scrambler and spinning method out there. Many of those methods worked until Panda came along. Even if we successfully drove traffic to the Amazon sites, once they were penalized by Google we risked having our traffic-driving sites penalized. In today's post-Panda world, it is even harder to make sites work when they utilize Amazon product descriptions.

Try it and you will see what I mean. My advice is to try it with a disposable domain because the domain will not easily recover once Google penalizes it.

You are just saying what I have been saying all along.
I do not rely on google for any traffic, page rank, rankings.
And I doubt that google will dump my site from being indexed at all.

Well, people making money tend not to broadcast it out.
Those that do? I believe they just inflate their actual earnings.

Will see how this works out:
    Right now on google search:
Doll Marketplace - my site is at top of page 2
Doll Seller - again my site is at top of page 2

One of method that Amazon affiliates use is Squidoo, and it is free to build any page from. Google gives a lot of importance to Squidoo. It doesn't matter which other platforms Amazon affiliates use, they all depend indirectly from the google traffic.

Google has the whole search network monopoly, so whatever advertising platform you can use to build doorway pages for your Amazon affiliate account, they are still controlling like a godfather the traffic they sent.

According to Google's Keyword Planner, the average number of monthly searches for 'doll marketplace' is 10. The average number of monthly searches for 'doll seller' is also 10. With a page 2 ranking you will likely get about 5% of that in traffic. Enjoy all of the traffic.

Actually I am surprised to see the site on page 2 given that there is no spiderable content on the home page. It will be interesting to see if it stays there. Your chances for maintaining the rank positions should improve if you add some text content to the page.

This may be an interesting experiment.

See what I mean about relying on google for traffic?
Will see my stats and see what google is sending me.

Still thinking about that one script.

For I want to get away (can't seem to do it the way I want with astore) from the low priced items and move to the collectible dolls that are worth big bucks.
Women have always bought dolls that are of certain makes, etc.
30 years back, in a store that my wife managed for a friend, dolls that sold for 300 to 500 bucks a pop were big sellers.

Must also hunt down such doll sellers that have affiliate programs.

It is just a thought, but in this kind of business, a lot of them sell collectible old toys. It is a very specific niche where the owners having the right rare items make a fortune.
