    Build or Buy Websites?

Is it better to build your own websites or buy websites that are dead and fix them up?

Building a website can be more expensive than purchasing a ready made site. Some of the steps you will need to build your website:
    1) Domain
    2) Template and graphics like header and logo
    3) Content
    4) Links building

A pre-owned website can give you a significant bargain as opposed to building it yourself. However, some bargains may be more trouble than they are worth. Sites that are static html may take a lot of time to update. You will also need to make sure that the content is orginal. Otherwise you are just buying a mess.

All good points. Its just so hard to find a quality startup site now-adays though. Do you have a favorite place to troll for ones to buy?

I would say both. It all depends what sites and topics do you encounter.

Off course building own website is great because every one need to understand the basic about making a website..

You don't need to be more technical and hard coded programmer to built a website, if you know the way to build a website than it is very easy to built.

But you have the knowledge of complete website building than buying a website which is more profitable than your own personal website, than you have to move to buying website.

    Thanks

I built 95% of the websites that I owned. I will only buy it if I find it valuable enough for my $$. It could be the PageRank value, backlinks, content, domain name or its ranking on the Google SERPs.

Buying gets me revenue more quickly and it also tends to increase the link diversity of my network.

But on the flip side, most of the websites I've bought have been built strangely and I end up not wanting to work on them because their internals are so bizarre.

With building, you must have patience -- but you get to do things your way.

I have an interest in buying websites with established revenues - I typically seek ones that are producing a few dollars a month or so - because I can buy them for a low price, make some improvements, and exponentially increase the profit margin. The problem is that it seems to be much more difficult to find low-revenue websites for sale these days... too many people just throw up piece of crap non-unique content sites and try to sell them.

Some of the more popular places to look for sites are sitepoint, flippa, Warrior, and DP. Sites are selling for high prices on most of the forums.

There are a number of nice sites for sales here on the NetBuilders marketplace

That's the #1 issue that I'm having from sites that I buy. I end of spending a couple of days figuring what is going on and cleaning up the mess. Otherwise the site sits there doing nothing.

Buying and building is almost same for me but now day is kind of difficult to get a good site for reasonable prices (most over prices and some fake sale)......

Some site does come with fake PR, revenue and traffic, so for me i rather build my own to have my own content and slowly build up the traffic .....
