Is building a mp3 search engine profitable, if yes in what way.

Are there any chances to get good traffic and revenue out of it.

Not if you get sued by a music company.

But there are tons of mp3 search engine sites which are running smoothly without any company. So, I don't think that would probably be a problem.

A search engine site isn't illegal.
Hosting the mp3s on your site, however, is.

Anyway, anything can be profitable if you do it right.
Put the time and effort into heavily promoting your mp3 search engine, place some high-paying advertisements on it, and you'll make a profit.

I recall AdSense being not too friendly towards MP3 search engines, so the big question is how will you monetize your traffic?

I bought an MP3 search engine script a couple of years back and could not figure out how to monetize it.

@ Will - I don't use adesene. I like them those who pay via paypal. So, adsense won't be a problem for me.

Didn't you try to add a VIP section apart from free section, if not why.

I agree with you. So, I think I shouldn't build one unless I am willing to spend a lot of time on it.
