Google PageRank - Introduction
I wonder if the formula is still getting a lot of changes..
Why are you still obsessing over PageRank? It really is only a small part of Google's algorithm now. It has more to do with how often they crawl your site than effecting rankings. I think I stopped watching PageRank about 2 or 3 years ago.
Ok, Thanks for letting me know but but are y ou know everything about me.
and i dont think that you are webmaster from last 3 years, Are you!
also let me know that = Are you buy any single links from someone or sale links to someone.. ? If yes then what is the first think you are still looking when buying selling or trading links... ?
Toolbar PageRank may disappear before the end of the year. While it no longer tells us very much about how a site will rank, I agree that it is an indicator of how often a site is crawled. It is also a good indicator of when penalties have been applied to a page (gray barred PageRank) and how likely a page will pass link juice.
@jakki, you are right that PageRank is the first thing that people look at when they are interested in buying links. I wonder what will happen to the link selling business if toolbar PageRank disappears. Toolbar PageRank does not benefit Google in any way, so they may not have any reason for retaining it.
I've always liked PageRank Explained with Bright Colours. :)
So true, there are actually hundreds of different statements and strategies shared by anyone but in order for you to find the effective one is to see it for yourself.
I like the idea hereand they provided an excel sheet for real page rank with formulas. :thumbsup:Quote:

not sure if PageRank really is the trademarked backbone of Google's algorith.some sites with no PR receives lots of traffic and are indexed in google to lots of keywords.
I believe it is still working if you buy a high pr domain and place your link in that site and you will get a lot of link juice and big serp improvements, so pr is a good factor too
From what I've seen, Page Rank Matters when:
1 - You sell links or blogposts and don't have traffic, specific SERPs, etc to justify when selling the link/blogpost (or don't want to give up that info) to the main page with the real PR.
2 - You are trying to get more money out of a domain index page/website sale that has PR but not the traffic, income, or potential based on the name to quite justify the price you want or just don't have the info to justify the price you desire.
3 - Selling static advertisements. Many marketers that are told to go buy $xxx dollars worth of advertisement seem to focus on PR first if they are not online savy vice the other factors.
So, does it matter? I think it depends on what you're trying to sell to who. For the SEO in us, sure its just a potential indicator and not in the top ones to look at. To say its irrelevant, would only be true based on how and what you're trying to do to make money online.
My highest PR site is in the bottom 3 of the ones I have that make money (affiliate sales and adsense). My highest money maker does ok on PR, but PR does not equal traffic, etc. I've not yet had the time based on cash flow to do my own product (a few in the works), so am interested in seeing how I'll need to tweak things to go down that route from now.
Just as James, Will, and all of the others on NB who make good money say, testing your own stuff is your own truth. Everyone else has specific things that work for them that may or may not work for you.
Cheers,
James
