    Question google webmaster tools question

I have a few sites where I made that html file they want you to create in order to get webmaster tools to work on your site. Every onece in a while a couple of the sites will be verified, then they will not be verified, then they will be again. Why do my sites need to be verified do much? I dont do anything to the html file, they are still on my sites.

This continual rescanning protects domain buyers. If Google did not rescan, domain buyers could remove the access file, but domain sellers would never lose access to the domains GWT reports.

It does seem odd that they scan so much. That was probably demanded by someone in their legal department.

Why would it be demanded? Both sites are new and registered under my name. Ever time I have ever tried to verify these two sites, it says google had an error and cant verify at this time. Then, out of no ehere the sites will be verified - then unverified - then verified.

    It is very frustrating.

Ahh... that means that Google is having trouble accessing your site at times.

On new sites, that usually means that you tried to verify your site before the DNS records had propagated fully and now there are cached DNS failures.

You'll just have to wait for DNS to propagate and for the DNS caches to timeout.

You should just add the header META tag. That's what I've done and there's really no reason to remove it.
