Parallax designs are interesting, but not practical for most web sites. I just bought a collection or HTML5 responsive design themes and one of them uses parallax design. I will have to take a look at the SEO aspects after I set up a demo site.

I thought that Parallax Scrolling is for the images. As long as the SEO text content is in HTML it should not be a problem. Of course, 1-page design is no good for SEO since it's for Apps and back-end admin pages written in JavaScript which is client-side code where the content may be pulled from a server via Ajax in response to user actions on the GUI.

A search engine spider simply pulls the default web page content and traverses HTML links to find more content. That is a most efficient way for them to discover most web content.
