Why is this niche so popular? Almost every webmaster has a damn proxy. Why? Are you getting $5 per click on AdSense? Is it so easy to rank for high competitive keywords?

Personally, I don't like that niche at all. I just don't understand why so many people jump into proxies as if they are "a piece of cake" for making money. Someone cares to explain?

It's not that you're earning a lot with them, it's just that it is so easy to get traffic for them It's a complete different thing than for websites, your proxy doesn't have to perform well in search engines to let you earn money.. but it's good though.

You should try proxies before you understand how cool it is for some people (or how bad )

You can submit your proxies to proxy lists, like ProxB and Tech-Faq. You can also buy cheap email blasts to thousands of users etc..

It's something you can't really do in other niches (I don't see a ProxB clone for the vacation niche for example) and it's great to earn those extra few Dollars monthly IMO

My 2 cents, my proxies basically pay for them selves and most if not all of the hosting cost for my other non-proxy sites. There fairly simple to run, once you get them dialed in. There pretty consistent, once you monetize them. (though finding a solid advertiser can be rough sometimes). But all in all, IMO its one of the fastest and easiest ways to get into this crazy biz and make a little coin... Hench why so many have them.

Yes. proxies are fastest and quite easiest way to earn money..agreed its profitability is low but you start earning money from the day one right away. unlike blogs for which you have to do lots of SEO and link building before u get a trickle of visitors.

But, in proxies u get 100UV the first day itself. Just get a $1 .info domain. the hosting costs $6/mo onwards..promote it for few days and you can earn back the $7 invested in one or two weeks. Now imagine if you have 10 .infos with you..the total investment will be $10 + $6. WIth each proxy assume you earn $0.30 everyday..that comes out to be $3 per day..per month will be $90. But your investment was just $16. So your total profit is close to $75.

Evn if you subtract $25 for promotions then you are left with $50. Now you can use this amt to pay your hosting fees for your blogs hosted elsewhere or to buy new domains. Proxies are best bet for ppl who start MMO with with very low cash.

How does AdSense treat proxies? Since the traffic from SE's is 0...

Adsense doesnt have any relation with SEO aspects..one can earn anywhere between $0.02 to $0.50 per click..sometimes even upto $1.

But it depends upon the location of visitors. US/UK/Oz/Canada visitors are good for ur earning. Iran/Saudi/China give just $0.01 per click..plus it may induce smart pricing in ur adsense acct and reduce ur earnings thru all other blogs/sites

I am somewhat superstitious when it comes to traffic sources... I don't like it when the traffic isn't from SE's. On almost all of my websites, SE traffic is at least 50% (mostly 80%+). Does the AdSense TOS say anything about traffic sources? Is it allowed to have 90%+ visitors from referral links?

What if your referrals are "wikipedia" and others?
