Thread: Requirements For Webmaster Status

This is a bit tongue in cheek, but what do you consider to be a minimum requirement for websites that you created to call yourself a webmaster?

I'll kick it off with my idea for a set of minimum requirements:

• a free hosted home page with some clip art and animations on the page
• a blog - ideally it is still alive, but a dead blog counts as well
• a forum - it's a no-brainer, all of us need to build a forum if only to get used to the admin
• a squidoo lens
• a PPC landing page - you have to have paid for traffic to land on a page - even if it got banned
• you must have at least one site monetized with Adsense even if it makes no money
• you must have advertised at least one ClickBank product
• at least one of your sites has a custom favicon and logo - no matter how badly designed it is

I could go on, but I look forward to your suggestions of minimum requirements for a webmaster badge of honor

so i guess i'm still not a webmaster

i don't have these..

You definitely have to add:
- Have made at least two drunken domain purchases that make no sense to you the day after...

- Have at least one establish Twitter Account with lot of real followers ?

Have to waste time on forums reading inane posts.

- you must have at least one site monetized with Adsense even if it makes no money
- at least one of your sites has a custom favicon and logo - no matter how badly designed it is

extra :
- Ban at least once in DP
- Visit webmaster forum at least one every three day (max i did).

• Must have used Add your URL to Google, only to realize that you would never use it again.
• Must have targeted an exceedingly competitive keyword, spending hours of time or hundreds and/or thousands of dollars of cash, before realizing that your efforts would not be compensated.
• Must have completed a very time consuming, menial task (directory submissions?) the day before finding an automated solution that would do just as good of a job.
• Must have received a temporary IP ban (sorry, only senior web development consultants receive permanent IP bans) from at least one social network (ahem, Technorati...).

• Must have signed up to NetBuilders.org
• Must have read old posts from yourself on a forum, asking a basic noob question and wondering how you couldn't know that at that time
• Must have tried at least one thing next to Google Adsense on your website
