SEO question, help please

I have a site hosted on UK server (which i was not knowing about

)
it ranks well in google uk, but I want more of US traffic/rank

will moving my site to US server improve ranking?

have backlinks from both US/UK sites

plz help

Moving your site to a US server is a good idea if you want to target the US market. I have hear that you can also create tons of backlinks from US sites pointed to your UK site if you want to rank in US, but I am not sure about this.

what's the TLD of the site? If it's a co.uk site then most likely it will be difficult to get US sites to link to it.

I do think that hosting it in the USA will help, and getting more us-related links will help, as well.

I did that, but rankings are not coming up in US.. i want suggestions on this method also.. plz

its India... does that matter in SEO ?

nope, I think it's about lower competition in UK than US.

I think its the backlinks. I had a site ranking no. 1 on google India and couldn't get it to rank on the .com Much to my chagrin, I discovered that much of my links were from India sites causing the ranking issue.
