Searching is always been a big problem for me. I need the help of a search ninja

Here are three samples of what I a looking for.

    File:Christian Bale - 002.jpg - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

My question is what do I search for at google images to find the public domain images on wiki.

I'm not a search expert but I don't think you can search for pictures with public domain licensing only.

I guess the best way would be searching for images within wikipedia itself only.
the query would be something like:

I think since Wikipedia is an open community, all the media shared there can be used freely but always make sure to check the file's license before using.

Just ensure you check each individual image's description page for any license information. It's all very clearly worded.

    i hope

    Google Advanced*Image*Search

could be the one you are looking for

pay attention towards the last option which talks about the license terms

    Usage Rights
    Options are

    • Free to use or share
Your results will only include pages that are either labeled as public domain or carry a license that allows you to copy or redistribute its content, as long as the content remains unchanged.
    • Free to use, share, or modify
Your results will only include pages that are labeled with a license that allows you to copy, modify, or redistribute in ways specified in the license.
    • If you want content for commercial use, be sure to select the appropriate option containing the term commercially.

    hope this will help

Could look at some "royalty free" sites that carry celeb pics. Keep in mind these photos can get expensive.

WireImage.com – The Largest Entertainment Photo & Video Archive and Daily Celeb Home are sources of celebrity stock photos.

Whether you need a license to use the photos is covered by the doctrine of "fair use".

So you couldn't use the images to endorse a product or on a commercial site. However, for reporting the news, blogging or a personal fan site than fair use would cover you.

    Hi,

Boy, I ask a simple question and I get a ton of information that has nothing to do with the question I asked.

I'll try again. How do I search for the public domain images on wiki?

If you will note all public domain images on wiki have a pic of a copy write symbol with a line trough it.

Now if you would be so kind to tell me how to search for that image, it would then show me all the pages that are public domain images

I did have a code that showed me how to find all the dofollow blogs by searching for the dofollow image. But I lost that code

I am sure that this would work on the same lines.

    Thanks in Advance

That image? That means it isn't copyrighted!
Re-read my post. I answered your question completely.

http://commons.wikimedia.org/ has tons of public domain images you can search through.

Bogart's link is also pretty useful, along with what anantshri said - but that's kind of labor intensive.

    Hi,

I know that image means that it isn't copyrighted!

NO you did not answer my question at all. You told me what I already know.

NO I am not hunting for those places to find images I already know of plenty of places to buy pics from if I wanted to buy them.

Now that you have the image (correct) there is a code that you can search google that will show you every page in wiki where, that image appears on.

That is the code I am wanting?
