    Stop People Stealing Your Content!

    Hello,
I found a great article about how you prevent people from stealing your content!

Auto writing scripts that copy someone’s article from RSS or such is one of big problems that we face everyday. Content stealing without notification to the original author can not be allowed.
We have to give them a big slap on their ass .
Here is how we will make them to think twice .

I'll use this one as it's handy!

Hope I helped some of you

does this mean, if they copy the stuff on your site, the message will be appear like this

This article is from <a href="http://www.domain.com">domain.com</a>
    ???

Won't the stealer just remove that coding?

    RewriteRule .*\.(gif|jpg|jpeg|bmp|png)$ http://www.mysite.com/wp-content/HTML2.jpg [L]

I already have been stealing the content I write on my Affiliate Manager blog and having it posted on auto blogs from my feed. It doesn't really bother me when other blogs are doing it. They do not post the entire article and they always link back to my original post.

Plus, I am sure Google has something in their algo to check the times of the posts to see which is original content.

Post times are so easy to fake.

A few years ago, Google admitted that they couldn't keep track of initial crawl time of content either.

Google tends to award to "original article" stamp of approval to the domain with the most authority.

This means that newer sites are incredibly vulnerable to issues arising from content theft.

Personally, I block web content scrapers with bot-trap.

Cool, this thread is really useful, I mean it doesn't feel right when you spend time and/or money creating unique contents just to be stolen by others.

It's a different story if you get your content from article directories because the main purpose of article directories are to spread contents.

    Cheers,

PS: ah just realize that Xrvel is Indonesian, hhhhmm.... really nice...

In my local area some websites copy and paste articles from the local newspaper's website. Surprisingly, the newspaper doesn't do anything about it. I would have expected a newspaper to take some kind of action, with all of the lawyers they can afford to employ.
