Thread: Unique Articles

I has an idea to greatly increase the amount of articles on my site..

I was thinking of permanently translating my articles into other languages and have the links translated too..

So for example i had 50 articles and i translate into 10 different languages then i would have 500 articles and 500 static links...

Would this be considered unique content? what do you think to my idea?

Hmmm! im not sure, but i think it can be a pretty good idea. Like using Google translator or any other translator, and get the translated version of the article and use it on Web 2.0 properties like Hub Pages, squidoo, blogger blogs etc. for getting back links.

Would like to hear more opinions from the senior member here though!

Adding translations seems to boost traffic to my sites about 20%.

Boosting traffic is not always equal to increase in profit

Actually, I meant to type profits. The traffic increase is slightly larger.

well..i might spend some time and translate all the articles on my site and have some permanent links to them if the user changes languages.

I think this should make my site appear to have a lot of unique content and appeal to a broader audience and help me out in the long run..

Google and other SE's do not discriminate on multiple language versions of the same article, so you are good to go

But the articles will not be "unique", since the English version of it already exists. It will just be "translated".

Google has stated that the same document in multiple languages is not seen (by them) as duplicate content.
