Yeah, but I'm sure he is losing much more than gaining. There must be tens of thousands of domains moved away from Godaddy, who cares about some newbies registering 2 domains. It's the long standing domainers that counts who have spent there a fortune already, and now they will spend it somewhere else.

Is there an alternative to GoDaddy? I'm talking about a serious alternative, not some crappy registrar with high prices. I really love Dynadot, but their prices are significantly higher than GoDaddy's. The same goes for other registrars... Nobody can offer so many discounts like GoDaddy.

I just don't see a point in boycotting, etc for what a billionaire does in his free time. What do the other millionaire Domain registrar CEO's do in their free time we don't know about? Probably many things as bad or worse (if you are the type who says elephant hunting is bad). I don't see an equivalent showing of support for Bill Gates and his wife who were once spoken of as the son of Satan or Satan himself with bride for their work in India.

End of the day, lots of PR for GoDaddy, Bob Parsons whether you like him or not is in the news in non-Super Bowl season, and the folks who hunt elephants in Zimbabwe will continue to hunt elephants.

Instead of burning time worrying about a CEO I'll never meet, I'll instead take a look at where we can throw some additional money to helping those on the continent.
    Cheers,
    James

Boycotting something is a personal decision which will probably be shared by a minority in this case. But hunting a helpless animal and then gloating about it is something that I find disgusting. The worst thing, he killed an elephant because it was eating crops when it could have been removed from that place without any killing.

And showing people skinning the animal wearing his bright orange caps and zooming the camera on it, thats absolute sh!t.

Yep, boycotting probably won't help. Many companies have direct or indirect links to politically less desired projects/investments anyhow and who knows what the competitor is up to.

The issue like i see it is that he's a foreigner 'money can buy me everyhting' trophy hunting in one of the most currupt and troubled countries today, using the locals as marketing puppets creating this really bad taste video.

Moniker is the best Registrar imho, yet it's a bit more expensive than Godaddy, which means that it can hurt your finances when you're managing XXX+ domains.

Moniker made some very amateur mistakes in the recent years, and their support seems to consists of a nice girl from California. They were down a few times, they had couple of technical problems and a few domains stolen. Moniker is the past. Fabulous and Dynadot are good registrars, but not as cheap as Godaddy. That's the problem.

I've never had any issues with Moniker and I keep a few dozen domains with them. I like Fabulous but their interface sucks (it's eventually a bit better with some of the recent changes). Dynadot... I know I keep a few names with them, but I haven't logged in there for a while now.
