First thing I did is cliking into the pricing section, then you can read that:

The pricing model for Google Commerce Search is based on the number of products/items (SKUs) in your catalog and the number of search queries entered on your site each year. Pricing starts at $25,000 per year.

It was interesting but damn it starts at $25k, it means that I need to sell for $75k merchandises to have a ROI.

Unfortunately it is not for me, but the corporations able to put down these $25k or more will be able to hammer you hard in the organic search because they will have a tremendous help from Google.

Do you still believe in the net neutrality?

I remember that Yahoo long time ago charged for first position in their SERP.

Anyway, Google, or Bing are trying to find other ways to monetize their SE because of shareholders pressure, the problem is all of these new things are not affordable for the very small businesses.

Well at $25K it might be inclusive of some medium sized businesses as well, not just big corporations, but it still excludes a lot of small businesses.

I don't believe in net neutrality, but considering the prevalent mentality of net neutrality advocates they would probably turn this kind of thing into a cause for more regulation, except this doesn't really fit the net neutrality agenda because it was limited to ISPs charging sites for improved access, not Google as a search engine doing this. That's why the case for net neutrality is such a slippery slope.

You know, I think the more Google alienates small businesses though the more traction it might lose in the long term, and the greater the chance of a paradigm shift in the near future towards something that serves us better.

I agree with you, a shift is going to happen if Google stay on his path and I guess they are slowly engineering that via their algorithms updates.

I am wondering if Google will become a private search engine for national and international corporations, you know like sam club or costco...you name it.
