I couldn't be more agree on that. Remember what they did to the directories, how they charged skyrocket prices for their Adwords system, how webmasters are taking heat with low revenues on Adsenses, how they are killing small companies with "Mayday" and now with Google instant.
I am not surprise, they just changed their philosophy on "everyone can compete equally", that's not the case since a few years ago.
The funny thing is that spammers are not even threaten anymore and more and more people are using black hat SEO or stuffing keywords as a new standard.
Google is in decline, period!
"Don't be evil." Bwahahahahahaha!
Google has no reason to please webmasters. Their target customers, just like our target customers, are the hoards of users out there. It is not webmasters or web site owners.
Everything that Google does, regardless of how altruistic it appears to be, is intended to add to their growth and power.
Google has no reason to please webmasters at all. Their goal is to make it easier for their customers, the searchers, to find stuff. If the searchers are happy then more people will use it.
Excuse me guys but who are the Google customers ? It seems to me that the customers are the webmasters spending money on their Adwords system, not the searchers.:D
It would be nice if the OP posted a summary so I didn't have to click through to read the article. The title seems so far-fetched that I can't muster the time to click.
Google wants to keep searchers happy so searcher use google. Then advertisers will pay to be on google. It's just that simple, imho.
You are right, but isn't it clear that they do not see it that way? :D AdWords advertisers are Google's captive benefactors. That is why they are a Googleopoly. When was the last time that Google did something that benefited their advertisers?
Their focus is almost always on the users who use their search tools. Without them, there isn't any market for AdWords advertising. Webmasters and site owners are a dime a dozen.
Sure if you put yourself in the Google shoes :D but I am not and it is not my goal.
Google want to focus on the users so am I. Google use an algorythm to find and use in their index some popular sites, but their machines could be as powerful as they wish, they will never have the subtlety to choose a great site made for the people. That's a huge difference.
So is Google want to show in their index, sites people are looking for or sites paying their advertising?
