You can build your credibility by participating in the forum like this one, by helping others to their problems, answer their questions. In no time, people will see you as an expert in your area of expertise.

The best way to build credibility online is to perform credible actions.

What I mean is that if you continue to make transactions with people, help them out, etc.
You will begin to make a name for yourself and establish that credibility naturally.

Don't scam people. Don't lie to them. Don't do anything deceptive or suspicious.

Other than using forums, you can use blog and twitter too! For blog, just post useful tips or something interesting to your readers, as for Twitter, use it to build good relationships with your followers and your credibility will certainly increases.

The article covers the basic points. Other ways to help build online credibility are to participate in forums that are relevant to your market niche, add testimonials to your website and use a blog to provide knowlegable product reviews and tips.

A solid website with telephone number and mailing address is the beginning of credibility. Understand, you must be prepared to answer the phone and read letters, when you have such information available.

This part may take a while: develope associations with formal web officials like the BBB and other web associations.

I'm really qurious as to what you site is about

  9. Using poor grammar and run on sentences is not a way to establish yourself as an authority. If you can not even type a proper paragraph, what are people supposed to think?

We have here 2 paragraphs, 3 periods and I think 2 commas. This is not the way to establish yourself as an authority. If you can not even type a complete sentence, you should not be giving advice.

Getting someone to spend their money online at your site is a difficult process, considering that most everyone has heard of different types of Internet scams in which fraudulent people put together a website only to steal private information or to try to pass along a virus.

But there are three ways to ensure visitors that your website is different and can be trusted, so they will lower their “scam radar” and be relaxed enough to move from a visitor to a customer. The way to build that trust with website visitors is through the following three steps:

Solid web site yes, but in this day and age I really don't see much use in having a mailing address and a phone number out there. In fact it could be a security risk. If your business is unlikely to ever use those forms of communication then I don't see the point.

I also don't think people are even looking for such info anymore, at least for online businesses which don't sell any physical things or sensitive services like financial transactions.

I think the beginning of credibility is as Kovich said performing credible actions. Make your users / customers happy. Make your pseudonym and/or real name (whichever you choose to use online) into a reputable brand. Have basic policy statements on your sites like terms of service and privacy policy, just so you appear accountable and up front and if anyone ever does complain, respond in a satisfactory way. Don't break your own policies.

In short, build value for other people while respecting them and it'll come back in form of good reputation.
