The times I get demotivated are usually when pages of a site or rankings go missing for no apparent reason, adsense cpm tumbles, affiliates sales drop etc. When I'm doing well I'm pretty self-motivated.

Physical exercise, going outdoors & socializing in general. Most of my work is a very indoors & isolated process, and I need equal amounts of "outside" activity to keep the cycle in balance and feel refreshed.
Same here. I go out for a bike ride or chop down a tree etc for a couple of hours every afternoon. I also find good ideas or solutions to difficult problems turn up faster when I'm away from the computer for a while. It's highly recommended not to spend 18 hours a day on the PC, although I do my fair share of that as well.

On a road-bike, in south-west France (where I live), with others on a Sunday and on my own in the week. Maybe once a week in the winter, pretty much every day in the summer. Usually 40-100 kilometres. Hills are my friends

In about 9 hours time, I'll be heading up the Maungakotokutoku Hill... 10 times! Then, I'll head out to the Otaki Forks, to add on another 100km. That'll work out at about 150km, of which 50km will be extremely steep hill climbin'! You're welcome to fly over in a jet plane, and join me if you like.

I'm having an early start, I will be waking at 4:45am, and on the road before 5:35am.

If thats you in your avatar I'm probably old enough to be your dad, so I don't fancy my chances. And my summer season will be 6 months different to yours. So perhaps I'll pass on the offer, thanks...I think maybe I'd be dead afterwards rather than motivated

Sometimes that works for me, at other times the opposite works for me.

A few times when I've been really seriously super motivated in this business, it's been because Google kicked me in the teeth and I became determined not to let them win.

I swear, by my life and my love of it, that I will never live for the sake of another man, nor ask another man to live for mine.
