    Hello,
I was just willing to signup with them when I read this:

    Permission to Host Your Content
For us to host your website, it is necessary for you to upload your content to our servers. When you do this uploading, you are creating one or more copies of your content on our system. By purchasing hosting services from us, you acknowledge that these copies are being made, and give us the permission (a license) to maintain these copies and make them available to users of the Internet. You are solely responsible for providing all of the content and other data that make up your website.

Does that mean it's possible that they will sell databases etc? I don't want them to spread my files etc...

I've never seen something like that before on any host so.. What are your views on this?

It seems OK to me. If it worries you, ask them for a rewrite.

I was gonna sign up with them but I didn't like their plans that much so I preferred host gator so I signed up with HG better.

By the way Chrome supposedly does something very similar too, Google's Chrome is set up by default to collect about 2 percent of all keystrokes typed, whether Web page addresses or search terms. The data collected may be retained "forever" to help Google refine its ability to suggest Web pages the user is seeking. The reason is simply to improve their advertising towards extreme targeting, the more google knows about someone the more targeted of an ad they can show the users.

Nothing bad, they will make the content available to the public via browsers i think, will not sell anything.

Ok that seems great, and @Jorge, I'm signing up via 'AUD', which makes me pay much less than if I would pay via Dollars or Euros

I'll let you know how the hosting is in a few weeks, I'm signing up with them tomorrow

My guess is they are trying to protect themselves from any copyright infringement liability they could incur if what you post is not owned by YOU...

I agree. I think that is what it meant by that post. Anyway, just let them have it rewritten, or perhaps ask for some clarifications.
