Hi friends I am planning to launch a new arcade script, a few mods are still in progress, hope the script will be in market soon. Kindly suggest me at what price should I sell the copies of the script...

The features which makes it better from other scripts is inbuilt gameplugs and purchase credits.

A lot of modifications are under progress like:
Rating, Comment, etc etc.

The ad integration is also nice in this script, the script is completely user friendly.

If anyone can give a broad suggestion on how to make money on arcade games website. I might be your 1st customer gfx... a review copy maybe???

Well I am planning to launch two versions of the script,

1. Basic: Currently used in Arcade Script, Free Online Games
2. Premium: It will have a few extra mods, copyrights removal and it will come with a 100 game's gamepack.

I guess I would launch the basic version for free and for that one my major competitor would be av arcade.

And for the other versions I would have to compete with all major arcade scripts.

If anyone can give a broad suggestion on how to make money on arcade games website. I might be your 1st customer gfx... a review copy maybe???

There are a lot of free arcade scripts, and free versions of pro scripts, out there.

Of course, one of the appeals to an arcade script is simply if the webmaster likes it, and like any other type of script, that can be anything from a certain look to a little feature; it sometimes can seem to be the most insignificant thing that appeals to the would be webmaster of an arcade.

One thing which will appeal across the board is the ability to promote the arcade; not just in what the webmaster does, but also (primarily) allowing your guests/members to do your promotion for you.

A standard in a lot of arcade scripts is a link box where someone can add the game to there blog, MySpace page, etc. just by copying and pasting the code.

A feature lacking in arcade scripts, primarily due to the difficulty of a standard way to integrate it into different forum scripts, is the ability to offer a linking method where someone can post a game from your arcade into a forum post like they do with YouTube videos.

PhpBB has some type of flash linking code. Perhaps MyBB or others might have a similar feature.

The thing with arcades and promoting them, and I am no expert on this, is that it is a good bit arcade to arcade promotion. With so many arcades around every corner of the internet, it is probably difficult to get many webmasters to not think 'well...that's one million and one now' when considering linking to an arcade.

Some arcade scripts, premium that is, may come with promotional addons such as banner exchange credits with a strong arcade banner exchange; perhaps even a link to the arcade from your site; maybe even an easy way for purchasers of your script to contact each other to trade links. The 'friend's sites' section seems like a good use of this.

Online arcades benefit from offering something to keep players coming back. You can go onto any arcade and play games. People have a tendency to like keeping score; high scores. Not only scores, though, but titles as well. In addition to high scores and ranking games, perhaps some type of system (which can be modified and turned on or off in the admin panel) which allows players to reach certain levels with different titles, or even their own title.

Another thing that seems to be popular on arcades is a shoutbox or some way for players to communicate with each other; perhaps even some kind of challenge posting where one member can issue a challenge to another.

Getting games is important; obviously. In addition to gamepacks, making it easy for the webmaster to add games to the arcade is a bonus. Such things as bulk adding of games and a feature which phpquickarcade has that allows someone to enter the link to the swf and image file they want to add, and the arcade will automatically transfer those files to their hosting and add it to their arcade.

Ever noticed how arcades can get lots of visitors, yet be ranked low for traffic; while webmaster forums with barely a post in a week get ranked highly? Webmasters will use browser plugins and toolbars that not only inform them of a site's Alexa ranking and Google pagerank, but every time a site loads in a browser that uses such a plugin/toolbar is a call to the service and counts as a hit to the site. Arcade surfers must rarely use such plugins and toolbars.

A caveat is if you want a site to rank well...attract webmasters to it.

Perhaps a topsites plugin for the arcade? Perhaps as an additional draw, have the plugin list the top 5 sites on the front page.

Allowing people to hotlink smilies has worked well for me. They are small files that don't use up a lot of bandwith. Perhaps have smilies for use with a shoutbox and have a feature where members can also use those same smilies to post in forums they frequent? Maybe even an avatars gallery that can be added to the arcade and they can hotlink them in forums as well.

Another consideration may be templating and how well one, if they are not going to have an arcade only site, may be able to integrate an arcade into their site template. I use an arcade script on my little portal at G8 Arcade . The script is easy to get it to fit with a template; of course, the site primarily only uses a header for a template, so it wasn't much of a challenge.

Getting back to your script, or actually making my way there for the first time , I do like the clean layout and especially the use of the 'more games' by just using a link with a smaller image. Too many arcades, to me, are simply cluttered and bloated. I like something that gets to the point, but also gives me options should I choose them; I think you have done that well with the layout.


Just some completely random and inane thoughts of mine that are probably best ignored.

Well, that was a really nice reply, and I know I have to work on a lot of things before getting this script in the market, and thats what I am working on, I think the script will be out soon, and will be better than the current one
