    Selling e-book and it prospect

Hi all, if you start online business, i'm sure your often heard about selling ebook. This is the the most commong internet business. You can find so many people selling e-book, and maybe you buy some of it. And just for info, i'm already buying about 10-15 e-book which cost me hundred dollar.

But seeing the fact that e-book business is already lot of competitor, many interesting way to sell is already available (video course, audio course, etc), and to think the fact that e-book piracy is so wild right now. In my country, paid e-book can be found so easily. There is many piracy here. So, don't need to buy, all is provided for free on internet. That makes me think about the prospect of this business.
How to make people is not spread our e-book for free?

Anyway there is another fact, i think people more love to read conventional book than e-book. Reading e-book is make eyes hurt.

With that all reason and fact, do you think selling e-book is still profitable?

Ebook selling is profitable if you can write an original ebook and then market it well. If you're buying ebooks with MRR, it probably isn't going to make you a lot (it didn't for me), so I wouldn't bother with that.

But do you feel the decreasement of this business because there is already more interesting way of giving information?
Actually i'm asking about this because in near time i'm and my friend will do JV making e-book.

    @simon
about MRR, wait for tommorow, i'm already make topic about it

I feel that the ebook business is going up and down. Here's my reasons:

    Getting better:
More people are coming online, so will want to read/buy ebooks on making money online.

    Getting worse:
Most ebooks nowadays just seem to be covering the same old information. Many of these books hold information that you can find free on websites like blogs and internet forums.

Personally, unless I knew I was going to be able to sell loads of copies, I wouldn't bother.

Nice point, simon. So you think there will be a fluctuations . Yeah, i just remember some newbie which request advice from me about which e-book their should buy. Oh man, their are searching for e-book?

I'm already fullfiled by many e-book :P. But mostly of them, is ended up become just a data in my harddisk.

But there is also a thing which make e-book business become worse. But i think this is a case in my country only. In kaskus, one community on indonesia, e-book seller always interograted about their e-book and people always force to the seller, to scan their bank acc book as a proof that the seller really have a money (which their get from running a method in their e-book). In other mean, people is so skeptical

I'll be honest: I did not understand what you want to say.

Personally, I think all the e-books businness is falling apart now that most copies can be found on ThePirateBay and other warez sites. Obviously the authors will think twice before investing time in effort if they KNOW that their work is going to be everywhere on the web within a few weeks.

I mean, in my country, people already skeptical about e-book. Their things all e-book only writing the information which can be found for free on internet. That's why, before their decide to buy e-book or no, they always intrograte the e-book seller with many question around the e-book content and payment proof

Thanks, it is more clear now. But what kind of question would they want to ask? I mean, it is obvious if someone 'from your country' () ask an author if his book contains original and new content, the guy's answer will be positive.

Unless he (or she) is a coward.

Nic, I have to agree with you. Ebooks are now so easy to find on warez sites it's ridiculous. As a matter of fact I had someone on my MSN list ask me if I'd read 'blogging to the bank'... when I said 'no' he told me it was OK because he'd put it on TPB :O

Needless to say I didn't go near it. Someone has put a lot of hard work and effort into creating that book, so by ripping them off and putting their book on warez sites you've instantly lost them a sale.

The author get many question about the method used to earn money. Is it same with other e-book, or something which can be founded free by googling. Of course author will write positive things about their e-book, but it can be boomerang. If one people buy it and then tell the other that the author i lie, author e-book business and their reputation will go bad.
