Thread: would you buy china product ?

    yah me too .... i bought android operate IPAD look alike net/palm or whatever book, it still working ... reason i buy ? below usd 200 (shipped), what else can i buy ?

    I agree with rome9t9, B2B seems to make most sense.

    In the UK there was a lot of Computer fairs (last time I checked) where guys with vans sell cheap computer parts in sports halls, they must buy their stock from somewhere, you could be the guy that sends the container load to them to fill up their vans at the port maybe?

    nope i won't ... it ain't easy and a lot of trouble, i used to own a company in US, i supplier and sell there but at the end i quit for the reason, huge capital involve, GOV + International trading rules, Shipping cargo + Custom, Difficulty dealing with client and supplier, Sales regulation + current most popular issue Anti Terrorist Act (i send something to Canada Quebec, when item arrived Toronto or Vancouver, custom call me and i have declare everything and a sign some one for inspection, when cargo leave to Quebec, they call me again and i have to repeat same thing).


    Actually i target end user for some reason :
    1. Low capital, just set up company, warehouse (in china) and web site.
    2. No responsible on product quality, Current EMS system is pretty safe (other then india)
    3. Huge interest from Europe + America from end user.
    4. High transaction Volume.
    5. Good profit sharing.
    6. Market Need, i think most user don't mind paying USD 20 for 8gb MP3/4 player, USD 99 for a reliable Kite, 10 dollar Shirt, 100 dollar for complete kitchen stuff and bla bla bla ....

    That why i love internet, base anywhere, sell everywhere and make profit by currency exchange + logistic + small commission ..
    Not teaching just sharing and wish for more input, i run another site (similar concept) import item from Japan to HK and singapore, cause they accept and willing to pay high prices for latest gadget

    If you are selling name brand products, such as Sony and others who have manufacturing facilities in China, it might be successful. I would stay away from selling unknown Chinese brands.

    Also, watch out for counterfeit goods. The problem with counterfeiting products in China has become exponentially worse in the past few years, not better. The Chinese government has very little control over the counterfeiting issue, and it is very likely that they do not really care. All of that will reflect on the reputation of your store.

    For me it's not about country or origin of product, but only about quality of product.

    There are quality products from China and I would buy those and there are bad products from China (so as USA or Western Europe) which I would not recommend even to mortal enemy...

    Here are real life examples:

    I bought J&W motherboard when my previous Gigabyte motherboad went dead.
    Simply when I opened box in store I figured something is really good in front of me. Build quality is like any other product of Abit, Asus, Gigabyte...

    Fishing reel. I saw this fishing reel on some guy.
    Metalim-ce series
    Its completely from metal, bunch of ball bearing, wormshaft and many other technologically advanced features for a fishing reel. Its like 4-5 times cheaper then equivalent products from Daiwa, Shimano and some other American and European manufacturers...

    So in the end its not all about country...

    It depends on the products. Clothes and electronics are generally good quality. There's been issues with contamination in food products and construction materials like drywall.

    Ya, the problem is with the common consumer....most don't realize that the majority of crap they buy is built in China or other places. If you make it too obvious to them, then it feels "cheap" even though the product really isn't many times.

    Now, if you talk to folks who have their own products made in China, they'll tell you having a QA rep on that end to inspect goods pre-shipment is a must. I don't have any personal experience on that front though, so would have to defer to any on the board who do.
