Thread: Covering up bad publicity

Honestly spoken, as an admin do you delete posts that badmouth your forum and/or exploit the forum?

Truthfully speaking, I have in the past. It hasn't happened yet at Admin Community though so I haven't had that situation to deal with. If it happens I'll deal with it accordingly then.

I haven't ever had the need to do it myself, as I believe that all information (regardless of how destroying it may be of something you care about), should be free for all to know. If you don't screw something up in the first place then there's nothing for people to release about you

No one has really bad mouthed my forum; if they have, my members have promptly defended it so I haven't found a need to really delete any posts.

  4. #4
I did because I don't want the users to actually believe in what the badmouth said.

It hasn't happened, but I wouldn't do it. If they badmouth the forum, if it is a legitimate suggestion or complaint, than I would take into action fixing it!

So if someone create a thread saying your forum sucks, you'll won't delete it?

    We usually just ignore it.

  8. #8
I usually bring it into private staff discussion and talk it out with the user of pm or msn.

  9. #9
I just apologize for them not liking it, then ask how I can improve. They have a right to speak on my forum.

  10. #10
I don't delete it. If it has swearing etc in it i will delete it and send them a warning, because they're breaking the Rules. But i listen to my members, and if someone badmouths my forum a few members normally come and defend the forum.
