Do you want to be admin or moderator on a forum ?

I personally would loved to be moderator on a big site I was active on, and still am, it just gives you attention, status, and responsibility, job, etc ...

But now I prefer to be an admin on a forum, like I am now on CF. But If I would search for a job now I would also be pleased with an moderator job.

    What about you ?

I'm not overly fusses about the role I play on a forum... From Head Admin right down to just being a member.

If you get respect and have any responsibility (for example, running a small graphics contest weekly or just something basic) and people respect you for it, then that's all that counts.

End of the day, its just a forum..

Unless it's a resource board, you don't need staff to function your forum if you do things right.

haha, I used to be like you, master412160.

at first I wasn't interested in forum life at all, so when I joined a forum of Japanese mangaka around a year ago, I was satisfied with being a member. and I show that satisfaction by posting a lot there, talk to people, make great friends, etc. I thought it was all that matter, and I still think so now, and I'll always be.

one day the forum opened up an application there and because I love the forum and I'd like to help making it better, I tried to apply and I was accepted as a moderator. I'm still a moderator even now, and I enjoy that job.

admin's jobs are pretty much like moderator, if I might say. it's only different in few things, but not that much. only that being an admin is a bit confusing sometimes, hehe~ so that way, I guess I'll choose to become a moderator, or a global moderator. it was my first job and I think will be my most favorite job ever. ^__^

Admin all the way. Moderating just gets nasty, tbh.

Re: Do you want to be admin or moderator on a forum ?

My own forum is the only place I want to be an admin at. Other than that, (global) moderator positions are fine for me. I do like to help out on forums I'm very active at, although I'm never the one to take the first step. On all the forums I've been a moderator at, it was either one of the other staff members who recommended me and asked me to join, or the admin him/herself who suggested it. I don't like to straight forwardly go for those positions, I guess I really don't like to have power, but sometimes it's needed for the better of the community, and I do want to help out, so... yeah... let's just say moderator, lol XD

Well, I'm a content writer, artist and a local mod on a very large forum (6,000 active members) and I'd have to say that being a content writer would be my favorite position out of them.

I have my own forum, so I never look for a mod status or anything. But I have a friend who wants to be an admin or mod on at least one forum.
