Free vs. Paid Webhosts

All free hosts suck, some paid hosts suck.



I recommend the Forum Forge. Great prices and great hosting.

Free is good because it's free. mostly they suck, but not all do. I have been using SiteFrost and it seems good.

free - never trust them

post to host - trustable sometimes

paid - trustable often but be careful

I have a free host that is great. Awesome support, awesome community, and fantastic packages. They have a crazy amount of uptime, like I've been there since March 4th and have only seen my site down once to be honest.

Paid hosts are usually better, but I think free hosts you can get what you wanted. It just depends on how much work you put in.

True enough. Like the one I use (mentioned above) I think is awesome. Great support, great community, great uptime, plus you can expand your space by posting. Which, isn't required. ;) I just don't even see a point to upgrading. :P

Depending on what your looking to do, would way heavily on paid vs free. I would suggest free if it's going to be the first site you run. It's a good learning tool. Getting involved with a paid host allows so many more options that may confused the less inexperience webmasters.
