Thread: How Much Money Have You Spent On Your Forum?

  1. #1
How much money have you spent on your forum, hosting, themes, domain, banners and all that? I would say £45 - £55 pounds for some older projects but I plan to spend at least £30 for Woxle with buying a theme and my admin is sorting out the other stuff.

  2. Probably over $10k, including:

    • Software licenses
    • Advertising
    • Prizes for contests
    • Buying other forums to merge

This can be an expensive hobby.

I swear, by my life and my love of it, that I will never live for the sake of another man, nor ask another man to live for mine.

If we can help one person to be an entrepreneur instead of having to take a j-o-b, I think it will be worth it.

Not as much as Will I probably spent a total of $250 on my old forum which I'm not managing anymore (Just paying their bills actually lol). Costs are for hosting, domain renewals, advertising etc.

I had no online money making systems at all before I found netbuilders. I remember coming across the forum a few months after it had been set up.

It literally showed me just what's possible when you set your mind to this whole making money online game.

At the time I was working the standard 9-5 job, it was paying the bills and giving me enough 'pocket money' cash, however it was not going anywhere and I was very much in danger of becoming stuck in a rut.

I now run a very successful website development company offering our services to SME's within our immediate geographical location (central England). I also have a few websites running which make tidy sums of cash. My goal is to further expand my company along with increasing my online assets. The skys the limit......it really, really is!

What I'm saying is, I very much doubt that without the help of this forum initially, I would not be in the position I currently am!

I want to extend a great big thanks to Will and the rest of the guys behind the forum, this really is one of the best resources on the net for web master information.

    Netbuilders for the win!

If you are talking about building a forum, then it's possible to do it for no more than hosting fees. But to create one that may be dominant in a niche then I guess you will have to invest in buying up competing sites and paying for an advertising campaign.

To be honest all up I would be looking at about $8000 and still spending trying to get it perfect. I am not happy with where it is at right at this second and so am doing one last major push for it.
