This is one of my biggest turn-offs for a forum.

I just leave right then and there if they have that; there is no good reason for it, and is very annoying from the users view. But it may be smart from the Admins view because-

    Post activation= no spam

    yet it also equals:

    post activation= no activity.

I never really saw the point of it. It drives away of activity humongously.

You took the words right out of my mouth, Sparta. This is exactly how I feel. Yes, that is a good thing to help prevent spam, but when it's done no matter how long a member has been there, whether they've been there a month or for a year, it's still a huge turn-off. I would never consider being active at any forum where I have to wait for my posts to be approved. By the way, I think the correct terminology is post-moderation. Not post activation.

On alot of great forums, they do that to prevent spammers from posting. I dont like it too much either, but thats sometimes a price you have to pay to get into a good forum.

I agree. Waiting for the moderators to approve a post is just a huge turn off.

I also agree. It's extremely annoying; mainly when you want to get a reply from someone quickly.

The phpbb support forum requires post activation I believe.

Some kid I was exchanging with (Spyro or something) was being a faggamuffin and only excepted 3 out of 20 of my posts, then complained to Forum Promotion staff about me "Not completing the exchange." I HATE this feature -_____-

I'd leave a forum straight away if it had post activation on. I hate it.
