    Problems with phpbb installation

    Hi guys,

help me solving this. I tried to install phpbb3 as its a free forum. Though the installation steps are going fine, its popping out an error at the final stage. Showing that I must Change writing permissions. I checked it with my hosting and I could not find an option for this.

Could you please tell what is the actual problem is?

    Thanks in advance.

You will have to find the option for changing file ownership and permissions with your hosting company.

What interface does your hosting company offer you? cPanel or something similar?

What is the exact error message?
Submit Your Webmaster Related Sites to the NB Directory
I swear, by my life and my love of it, that I will never live for the sake of another man, nor ask another man to live for mine.

I have checked it with the hosting panel, but could not find what was wrong.
Am using parallels plesk panel. The error Messages showing was something like unable to write on the folder, please change the permission.

I contacted the hosting company regarding this. Waiting for their reply now.

Goto the File Manager for your specific domain and follow the following to apply the needed permissions:

To change permissions for a directory or a file: click on the corresponding permission number in the Perm's column. A permissions settings page will open, allowing you to set the required permissions for all three levels: Owner, Group, and Public. Select the desired settings from the drop-down boxes, and then click Change to submit.
