All of mine are voluntary, but eventually as my community grows bigger and actually requires moderating, and they stay with the forum, I will probably pay them, Because staff do have lives outside the forum, and sometimes the stress, pressure ect. can be a bit annoying so sometimes they deserve something.

Voluntary, I think paid staff means they aren't in it to help, just there for the money.

Money is a motivator. If you weren't paid when you work what would be the point in working (unless you love volunteer work lol)

Really paying staff will give them motivation to do better and chances are they will be more co-operative if you're unhappy with their performance. It's not a bad thing IMO.

Yeah, I see what you mean. If I had the money on the side, I would definitely pay my staff. Sadly, that's not the case.

I never pay anybody, if its forum cash, maybe. The most I'd give the staff, is a VIP/staff sections, and know that there work is great.

All of mine are voluntary. I think it's a bit weird to get payed to moderate a forum.

Surely it's more weird someone working for free?
