Retired ranks have their up sides and down sides. That should be debated between the Admins though...

i just put them in a V.I.P. section where I put all retired staff and loyal/helpful members.

All retired staff? Hmm, in my opinion if they do a bad job and went AWOL on you they obviously didn't see your forum as very important so you shouldn't give them that rank IMO at least.
