It's not really that hard. vBulletin's Impex system is quite good at importing phpBB forums.

Pretty easy. I've done a few, including a couple with over a million posts. Sometimes there's coversion issues with something in the database but doesn't take much to fix.

why I asked was, I recently created a new forum on phpbb3 forum for freelancers

I don't want to risk money for vbulletin as I dont know if this forum will work.. my first forum BTW

so if it works, i will upgrade it

Impex is perfect it imports users/groups/posts/forums everything for you, i've used it in the past. Top notch vBulletin script
