Default Vb - 4

What are the new features in VB - 4?, any one updated it?

Whats you suggestion for it, I mean shall we update with new version or wait for some time, as I think many current mods will not work with latest version.

Thanx in advance.

G!

vBulletin, and the new features are astounding. The most notable are new profile pages (both look and feel and interactivity), new portal page, and new theme styles. There are probably smaller changes I don't know about, but I know v4 changes the thoughts of how vBulletin behaves a lot!

Honestly it's a disappointment. You need to re-learn all the skinning you used to know and it seems almost like a 3.9 than a 4.0 with just a cosmetic makeover.

Most of the developers left anyways so I guess I should probably wait and see what IB does to try and relinquish itself.

That's what most said about phpBB3 too after its release. Now see where it is, I still find it sucking but there are so many new developers creating mods now and so many boards using it. Hope it's the same for vB 4

I'm testing vBulletin 4.x now at Liberty Organizers.

I think that, in the next few years, vB4.x could be a serious contender in the CMS space. It has a lot of advantages over Wordpress, Joomla, and Drupal.

The downsides are all in the short-term -- plugins and templates for vBulletin 3.x that aren't compatible with 4.x.

Yep, it does look promising, yet, at $285 per license I don't see it going too far.
