One of my members recently complained about having Google Chrome warning him of a virus that can harm his computer, upon entering my site. My site is hosted on forumotion, and this has never happened before. Any ideas?

    Hmm,

Putting ''Site best viewed in Firefox'' in your footer would benefit you though I can't really think of an outright solution to be honest.

Maybe it was a popup advertisement displaying silly things such as you are our 1,000000 million viewer receive your prize by clicking here ... Things like that give viruses and did you ask him if he was on any other sites at the same time as he was on your site and maybe a popup came from another site but make him think it was from yours ??

Well, So Far it its only Google Chrome that is reporting this, Then I think this can be an unrouted cache of your site causing this, though I cant be specific

How many members have complained? If it is just the one don't worry about it (Probably been on some dodgy pornography/Warez sites), If more than one member complains about it take action, talk to your host about it, Im sure they will help you.

I would have to agree or it just could be a false positive, sometime it just happens.

Not true, I've been on so many forums, and very few of them have a little scanning page, it says "You have a virus!!" and it looks like a scan on the My Computer page, but its not, there actually installing the virus whe nyou see it, so cancel it, and then X out of the page, then run your anti virus software. No matter what forum you have, or how good security you have, there is still stuff that gets by, and it looks like the forum is at fault.

Some of them are right. It's likely from the ads which are placed on the forum.
