Definitely the nature of the forum. If I'm interested in a subject, band, etc. I will join the forum and post on it. If it has a nice and original skin, the better! Also, a smart community is always welcomed!

I agree. Usually, I wouldn't join a forum with only 10k posts. However, some forums do capture my attention and I do join them.

I join in the forums for information, I saw many forum that has great activity but members chatting on useless topics, those forums has no value.
