When is the right time to add a forum?

One of my current projects is simply an information site but I have a longer term view of turning it into a community based website. What do you think is the best time to add a forum? Either now which is not much traffic or at a later time when there is more traffic?

    Thanks

I think that depends upon how hard you are willing (and able) to work on the forum.

I once added a forum to an existing web site too quickly and I had to take the forum down because it was taking too much of the time that I needed to build the site.forum.

I would recommend against starting the forum until you are able to commit the resources required to make it succeed.

Thanks, it's probably best for me to wait. Also, with more traffic in the future it will be easier to launch/not look dead.
