Thread: Articles Descriptions about Items for Sale

Hi,

I am wanting to place some items up for sale on one of my sites, these items are from Amazon.

Here is my question? There is only so much you can say about some items. I know that copy and paste the Amazon descriptions is not a good idea. With all these updates from Google anyone have a good formula on how many words are needed or what should be done/said?

My guess is that saying the item is Green Felt and Sizes are S, M, L along with a pic, will not be enough to rank in a google search.

Think about what those most likely interested in buying your items might also be most likely interested in reading and go from there.

The new general rule about the minimum length for content is 300 words. There is a belief that Google is not paying much attention to new articles that are less than 300 words, but I have not yet thoroughly tested that. I therefore do not know if it is true or not.

300 words is not hard to write and it is a reasonable expectation for quality content. The new best practices rule that I tout with clients is 300 to 600 words.
