Typos and spelling mistakes aren't that much of a big deal on forums and other non-formal ways of communication.But when writing a business letter,when someone notices a typo they will probably think "he probably wrote this in 5 minutes".But I personally don't think its a big deal,we are all humans after all and make mistakes.

I spent a few minutes on the links and cane across a great idea about 10 minute writing bursts. The idea is for the non-writer to write in 10 minute bursts. It's a great way to take a few minutes to improve your writing skills.
