Thread: How To Write a Presell Page for a "How to..." Keyword???

I am selling an info product and have few "How to" keywords in my hand that the product solves. But my primary concern is how to write a presell page for a person who is looking for information and not a review of that particular product.

In fact, the visitor might not have heard about the product at all.

I believe that the traffic from a 'how to' keyword is targeted. But I am totally clueless on how to sell the product to them.

Many people talk presell pages in terms of product reviews. Should I also review the product in my presell page??

PS: My current presell page simply gives tips and has 3 aff links in the body. And it sucks.

Personally, I would provide good strong how-to information and then add the upsell to the info product in the article footer.

How about a good BUT incomplete information?? Which the product can solve??

For Amazon products, I am currently posting tips on how I do things and linking to relevant products such as for running. For "how to" info. I think you do need to provide "how I tried to do it info" and then link to the product that could have made it easier if only you had known about it earlier. And prominently display the product link in your page copy.

This is what I am learning. But I only made sales before from product review pages to be honest or my own product sales pages.

I like your "how i tried to do it info"... also I went through some great online resources on Preselling and found few good tips..

What I learned:
I would have to establish my authority and credibility with the 'how to' article.. A simple 3 tips article is not enough.. because people will just read the tips and they won't think about the author.

What is needed is that the author guides the visitor and shows him the solution, and by the end of it the visitor will not only have the solution(partial) but also will be grateful towards the author.

And then I will give a soft pitch about how his problem can be solved completely..The link will take him to my 'story' page where I will explain how the product helped me.

In the end, it all boils down to how you write and 'condition' the visitor to buy the product..
