An Inspirational Story About the Power of Writing

So, when I was in middle school, I created a webcomic called "Heathens." I am, in no way, a great artist, so I made the characters in paint, and most of the time they didn't really move about the screen too much. I just picked a background image from google, blurred it out, and relied on the dialogue.

You would think that people would get irritated with a comic that had less than decent artwork, however, people consistently gave my comics a 5 out of 5. The reason? Great writing!

It turns out, people really enjoy jokes, even if the artwork isn't that appealing. Appearance is only 1/2 the equation. Great writing can make people forget about what they're looking at in reality, and make them see it in context.

    Awesome, right?
Oh, if you want to read the comic, it's here: http://drunkduck.com/Heathens/index.php?p=42665

I don't update it anymore, but it was a fun time and carried many lessons about business and life!

Writing is THE thing, a good design is just a plus point.

You really made those in paint...wow! I would never be able to do that.

You can actually make a WMP comic too :P

That was a very inspirational story, Corey (Hey, that rhymes :P).

It reminds us to focus more on writing great content on our blogs and not spend hours and hours and hours working on the design.
