    Keyword Density

I know this is not a great question and none of us will be having the exact answer, what i wish to ask is What is the best/suggested/optimum/preferred keyword density for On-page SEO.

Also, how much is too much and how much is too little or negligible in the crawler's eyes.
    Thanks

P.S. I'm making use of personification while saying 'crawler's eyes', I don't mean it

3 to 7% is ideal. Anything over 10% starts to look spammy to both search engines and visitors.

Better you write something interesting and helpful for your visitors and forget about the Keyword Density. That'll be the natural and most wanted information for the search engines. I think there's no such thing that measures the parameter of exact Keyword Density.

That's what i've been doing till date but now i've come to realise that being too natural never helps, specially when Yahoo and other non-google, non-bing search engines exist. I never mentioned reducing quality and user-friendliness(typo?), guess just a couple of extra keywords in a 500 word article would not hurt if placed appropriately

After all, On-page Seo is the most important factor for the majority of the search engines apart from the big-players.

Of course. Everything is always dependent upon what is situationally appropriate.

But Snak3 asked for a recommended keyword density.

Yes that's it. Anyway...till now I also know as you said. KW density should be within 3 to 7%, but still I'm not sure how effective KW density is?

I see where you're coming from, Diesel.

I think that everyone should worry more about what is best for their visitors. Like you said, just write the article and don't intentionally try to raise the keyword density. Put it in if the opportunity is there, but don't force it. To me, visitor-friendliness > search engine friendliness.

"...would not hurt if placed appropriately"

Exactly! You've got the idea. If you can place them appropriately, then it's all good.
