Well you can build a successful blog. Content is king, if it is good it should do well. It is how you market and monetize it. The main thing for a site is revenue. People don't give a damn about traffic/comments, it is $$ that count.

True, if you're looking to flip it. I'm talking about a blog that you're going to keep, either for passive income or to build authority. In this case, can you have a truly successful blog with free content? Or does quality come from complete and unabated originality?

It depends, has the visitor seen this before?

Always unique content is preferred. Or you can just hire a re-writer for 1$ an article and you will have unique content.

I have no experience with using copied content.

Fair enough. However if you want to hire me for rewrites I want more than $1! Haha. Revision gets boring...

I dunno if I've stated my own opinion. Quality content for me is content that actually makes me want to read it. At base, you need to have solid grammar and writing, but I'm talking about content that you cannot ignore. Examples of blogs would be:

It may be unique, but will it be QUALITY? At the end of the day, for me, quality content is what's important, and I think it's the same for you too, as you always say quality over quantity

$1 will get you nowhere when it comes to content. To hire a really quality writer, you're looking to get a maximum of 50 words for that, or even less!

I was talking of $1 as in re-writing a 500 word article. And most of the times I have seen the articles to be good. (I have not tried this myself though)

Simon's got an awesome point. I've seen (and made) a lot of "unique" content, but that doesn't mean it's quality. Even a generic idea with a new twist can out perform a boring but "out there" idea any day.

it's because we have limited ability, not all people have good knowledge to make quality content, and not good knowlegde people can produce a lot of quality content. Because sometime people need inspiration to make it.
So, it's not strange when you find there is a blog which contain all quality content but updated slowly, maybe there is only 1-2 update per month, it's not because the blogger lazy but their are in searching for inspiration/maybe in doing research for their next article.

But if you wanna find quality content, but have no ability to make it, you can search for content writer, this is most common advice. There is one more alternative, just buy content package (ready stock), i find content sell on HERE is good quality.

Totally kidding. But yes, hiring someone to create unique content for you is great. However, does that come with an ethical problem? If you hire someone to write content that you can put your name on, are you fluffing your expertise?

I think it's no problem, as long the article is already become 100% for you, and you have full-right to use it. But you need to read and understand the artcile first, it's funny if you buy an article but you don't understand it, you'll be confuse if there is commentator asking about something in that article

IMO, simply the quality content have the following characteristic :

- Always have a big amount of comments on each article, not only drive-by-comments but there are lots of discussions and debates.
- Interesting and always write niche topic consistently.
- Easy to understand.
- Always attract both of new visitors and readers, it can be indicated from their subcribers count that grows larger everyday.
