For you, what defines fantastic content? Aside from spelling and grammar, what elements really make content stand out among the crowd?

For me, fantastic content is :
- 100% Original, unique, no copycat
- Writing something different from the other. Or writing same topic with the other blog but using different point of view.
I'm always interested to read article which contain that 2 point
Akira, copied content can still be good. Infact, usually copied content is the best content as it's worth stealing! That said, I'm not recommending that anyone steals content... original is definately the way to go.
Anyway, for me, a good article/post is one that has the following:
-Personality. If you don't write with personality, it's boring. Sorry to sound so blunt, but it's the truth.
-Fluff. Get straight to the point, as, again, otherwise it gets boring very quickly. Try to never pad out content.
Here are some points which I use to define good content
-It is on an interesting topic
-It is a list
-Short and to-the-point
-Teaches me something important
-Makes me want to share it with others
-Solves problems
-Tells me exactly what to do
Some good examples

@simon
but don't copies the content directly, we can rewrite it. Because, copy content is not only forbidden, but also bad for search engine robot.
And i get very good new strategy here to make quality content, search for great content and rewrite it more good than the original
Another quality content characteristic :
Can explain hard topic with simple word, and make us understand
O yeah? it's just a myth?
Is there any reference which deeply discuss about this?
But yeah, it's still about ethic, steal other people content is bad, even if you write the original source, so to play safe, just contact the web admin and said that you wanna use the content.
Yeah it obviously is not good.
I've been into SEO for ages now, I am sure of what I just said.
If you really want to read something check the Google post on the policy itself.
Giving the source is called "citing." It's perfectly okay to use an excerpt from another sources as long as you appropriately cite the source of the information you're using.
But I think we're getting a little off-topic, haha. As far as copied content goes, what about article directories? You submit articles for people to republish them, so does the republishing of this content make it lower quality? Or can you build a successful blog using ezinearticles or articlesbase?
Yeah we are, but I had to correct him
Well you can build a successful blog. Content is king, if it is good it should do well. It is how you market and monetize it. The main thing for a site is revenue. People don't give a damn about traffic/comments, it is $$ that count.
