hire a better writer I know many here. post a [WTH] thread and I am sure you'll get many offers
Where would you go if you need a writer for your blog? I need writer(s) to write about finances and world economy for a news blog. I am currently working with a few people in India but their article content (and titles) don't seem to attract my readers attention.
For your existing writers, dictate the titles and primary keyword focus to them (if you are able to with your current agreement)...
For the new ones, maybe hit-up current blog owners in your niche who haven't grown so large that they might need the income to write for your blog.
There are several solutions of this problem but first of all you should find out the reason that why their writings failed to catch the visitors eye. Than try to root out those deficiencies, by giving them instructions. Hiring a qualified & competent writers is also another solution.
By using people that have videos, they can provide instant content just with the videos alone - much less with anything they write.
By being a youtube partner, they have a financial reason to post their videos on your blog.
Pardon the shameless plug , but my company would be able to help you out. Check the link in my signature for more information.
Personally i would recommend Digital Point Forums. Its the biggest money spinner on the internet after gambling and many popular article writing organizations post offers there along with heavy discount coupon codes.

I totally agree. If you're looking for writers who understand US English then I would tend to hire writers from the Phillipines before I would hire someone from India. You can still find great people here in the US, though.I would personally stay away from a country that does not fully understand the english language.
You can always train a good writer. Find someone with decent skills who will work for a reasonable amount (or lower ) and spend a few months editing the content and showing them the edits. Then you'll have a high class writer at low-class prices and a good working relationship.
Or you can go find someone who absolutely knows what they're doing and pay a fair price for it.
You shouldn't have to train a writer. After all, the whole point of outsourcing is to hand over work to someone who is a professional and has expertise, so that you have time to focus on other things. If someone professes to be in the writing business, and they need you to train them, stay far, far away. You're an entrepreneur, not a high school English teacher.
Your best bet is to find someone professional - who knows how to write, who doesn't need you to hold their hand, who can provide you with compelling content that will boost your credibility.
