I agree with a lot of the comments here. Grammar is not everything, but it is an important element in effectively communicating your message, especially if your target audience is native English speakers.

I have found that content advertised as written by a "native speaker" does not mean anything. Most Americans, Brits, Canadians and Aussies do not have good writing skills. I have bought a lot of articles that were supposedly written by native English speakers and have had to re-write almost every article that I purchased due to structural problems, grammatical errors and poor methods used to convey the concept.

I also suspect that most articles sold as written by native English speakers are just misrepresentations, especially when very few content sellers live in English speaking countries.
You can have it fast, good or cheap. Pick any two.

I myself am not a writer and English isn't my first tongue, but I think that I manage well.
Grammar of course isn't everything, you need to have a large vocabulary and of course be informed on the subject you are writing about. But grammatical and typing errors are a problem, because even thought you might be a decent writer if someone reads an article of yours that is full of errors, he will probably think less of you and that hurts your reputation

Proper grammar is important for several reasons. First and foremost, it makes your content easier to read. People will not take the time to decipher what you wrote.

Second, using proper grammar is a sign that you are well-educated. After all, people create unique content to present themselves as experts in their niche. However, you cannot expect people to take you seriously if there are grammar issues.

The funny thing is that out of my 10 smartest friends, 8 of them use horrible grammar. But they tend to be the ones who figure out things which others don't. I myself am looking at the content and whether or not it's telling me something. 90 percent of what I come across on the web has been said a million times before, and no matter behind which beautiful writing style it is being presented, it doesn't change the fact that reading it remains a waste of time.

    Hi,

This is not mine but I tweet that I retweeted on Twitter.

    Think it fits here.

Bad grammar is the difference between-helping your Uncle Jack off a horse, and helping your uncle jack off .....

Poor grammar isn't a big deal for general topic articles. But bad grammar is a major quality issue.

I would just like content providers to click the spell check button first on their program of choice for content editing...that would be a major first step

The spell check is easy enough to do. But yeah its a good start.

The bad grammar is the big issue. Bad grammar is defined as incorrect grammar. Perhaps the writer spun the article or has limited knowledge of English. Poor grammar usually come from native writers that don't have a complete grasp of grammar rules or are too lazy to proof read the articles.

I don't think so because writing is much more than merely a grammar trick or just need a type of acrobatics. Writing is one of the most wide & large topic itself. Writer must have command all aspects of topic, he must furnished his piece of writing with sufficient data & figures, whenever it feel necessary. He should not go astray while discussing on a topic.
These & many other qualities are needed for a writer.

Definitely, most of the clients are from native English speaking countries and demand a very high grammatical correctness. But non-native clients look more for researched content and uniqueness of the article.
