Thread: Added to EasySubmits - hundreds of submissions

Yesterday I contacted the guys who own EasySubmits.com to have my new free general web directory added and within a few hours I had a response that my directory was added.

Over the next couple of hours after that I received hundreds of submissions to my brand new directory! I should easily reach my goal of having 1,000 sites approved in the first week.

So, if you're directory isn't included in EasySubmits I definitely suggest you contact them about getting it added!

Sounds good and indeed you will receive lots of submissions. But make sure you filter the spammy ones (noticed some in your dir).
Also, when accepting a dir listing, even if it requires some effort try to add some keywords or modify the description to make it a bit of unique among the another dirs.

We hope we could filter the list that we got. Usually we wait for a month before adding directories to make sure they last. We added quite a few directories before that disappeared a few weeks after they started.
Still have a list of about 200 to go through.

BTW, if you are looking for directory traffic, directorycritic and vmoptions are still going to send you more traffic since they have bigger lists and have been in a market for a long time. Contact them as well and ask to get approved.

Yes. EasySubmits rules. I am wondering did they assigned someone to work with that site for full time.

So that someone can easily fix that broken directories.

Hi, let me answer this one. We do have 5 full time programmers working at this point. Our main area of business is custom web development, however, we do spend time maintaining our existing sites.
We have been slamed with work about 2 month ago and just got off some big projects. In the mean time we did not spend too much time on maintenance, and had about 4000 reported links (some duplicate). It took us a week to clear those and now we are back to adding new ones.
As for broken directories, we are pretty sure most of them are gone as we removed about a 100 of them in a 2 month period (out of about 600+), which became paid, non-existing or broken.
We do get a lot of reports that the directory is broken when indeed it is not. For instance, some directories require only 1 level domains, and shows "unautorized" or some other message if its not. Some directories go out temporary too. It may be down for an hour and then be back up. We have a few directories hosted on bluehost and a lot of time when we approve the links, bluehost disables the account for half an hour saying "CPU Exceeded its quota"...

What we are thinking about doing now is adding a submission service at cost, so we would go through the whole list more often and remove the directories that have any problems.

BTW, PM me if you want us to submit any of your sites to all of the directories we have listed for all your help. This may help us remove a few more broken ones from the list.

After long time yesterday I logged on easysubmits and yes there are no much of broken directories. But it used to be more directories now only five hundred of them.

As I said paid option is great if that will give users more updated lists. I am willing to spend up to 20$ yearly for that service. Since I only use it when I get bored. 15 minute 30 submits and see you for a few days/weeks.
