Making money with a free directory?

I'd wait till it is at least 3-4. Also, keep in mind that the goal of selling links should not be to pass PR, or to list in a high PR directory. The listing fees are really meant to cover admin time and the actual reviewing and listing of a site.

2. On this page, i added a featured link, but the website screenshot is not working. Any idea on how I can fix this?

I use mine as a promotional tool and a traffic generator. In that way it is hard to tell how much money it is really generating. It also adds to my PR - and you can never have enough of that.

I'm about to start a directory myself, mostly for my own websites. Will see how it goes.

I never administrated a directory before. Any advices you might want to share ?

Keep on top of submissions, the amount of spam you'll get will drown out the genuine submissions. Install captcha, and make sure you set up the directory so that people making a submission actually have to visit your site, not just use automated submission software.

Yea, a good captcha. I started this directory 5mths ago and now has the highest traffic and about 500K submissions. The largest in the world!!!
