Thread: Thinking of outsourcing submissions

Hi,

Our web design company has just introduced SEO packages for our clients.

We intend to submit each site to 100-200 directories (among other methods) but the physical time it would take to do this means I am thinking of oursourcing our services.

I think it makes financial and practical sense to do this but I am concerned about the reliability of companies and individuals I have seen online offering their submission services.

Does anyone have any advice, or is there anything we should be looking out for?

Checking up on people's work is so time consuming as to make it economically unviable -- therefore you must work with people you can trust.

I've hired a bunch of folks through Ash's company, OrganicApex. Six of them are link builders, i.e. the kind of folks that do a lot of directory submissions.

OA finds, interviews, hires, trains, and manages these people. They all work in one of OA's offices, but they work for me. The system is working really well.

Couldn't agree more - I need a company that we can trust to A) Actually do the work, and B) Do it properly

Outsourcing some of the grunt work makes sense. Rather than outsourcing build a relationship with a vendor that you can "partner" with.

100-200 directories isn't very much. The acceptance rate will vary depending on the list. For 100 submission I would say that 25-30 back links are the average.

Bogart - Thanks for the input. I may go for 300-500 directories in that case then.

Would it be 'safe' to have so many submissions in a short space of time though?

Common sense points to yes as;

A) You could get your rivals in trouble with Google by paying for 5000 directory submissions on their site.

B) The submissions will take a while to get accepted (and many will not be added) so its not like you are getting hundreds of backlinks overnight, they will trickle in instead.

Still, I see the offer of 'slow' directory submissions which makes me wonder - are they worth looking into to?

With the directory submissions, you can submit different anchor text and descriptions. Some directory submission providers also can provide submission of deep links.

You can also outsource article marketing, bookmarking and blog comments. So that the links are coming from different kinds of sites.

Additionally consider outsourcing hubpage, squido and blogspot creation.

It is really time consuming to submit sites to directories, I do submission on directories for a lot of companies before, although it is pretty easy a lot of people do it wrong, they submit sites to irrelevant categories and this should be the ones you need to avoid.

I am not too sure about best practice or outsourcing for that matter as I tend to use tools and do it myself.I will save the long explanation, but essentially we all want links to rank higher in Google.If you want to do it through Outsourcing than you have to see at India or China.They will do it better in lower rates.
