Thread: advice on selling a domain name please

I have a domain name I registered almost 3 years ago. I never really did anything with it, but I did set up a home page that says something like, you have found blah-blah.com (but it's not blah-blah)
Anyway, I don't think I'll ever get around to using it, so I'm no go to renew it, but I'm wondering if I should sell it.
It's almost 3 years old, and is PR0.
Is it worth selling, and what's the easiest way to do that? If I'm only going to make enough to buy a beer, I'll probably just let it go.

Is it a match for any particular key phrase with traffic or a potential company brand? If no to either and you have no use for it, may just be better to let it go I would think to save renewal fees.

Tens of thousands of domains drop every single day.
Vast majority should never have been registered to begin with...hahahahaha

In answer, without know the domain, hard to say.

At the worse, put it up for sale or auction on a forum and see what happens.

Thanks for your comments! The domain name is keywords-directory DOT com. I was thinking of setting up a directory based on keywords, but never got around to it. It seems like now directories have been a bit overdone. Anyway, as said, it's almost three years old but I've done nothing with it (other than had a single landing page). Do you think it's worth anything, or should I just let it go? I don't know anything about selling a domain and wouldn't want to spend a lot of time and energy to learn to then not make anything...

I think it just depends on your time. You could put it up somewhere that is free to list and see if you get any bites on it I reckon. I would personally probably just let it go if I didn't think it was attractive for others to purchase. But that's primarily due to me not wanting to burn time on it. Really up to you.

keywords-directory DOT com doesn't seem like a valuable domain to me, since (a) it has a dash(s), and (b) it maybe a long name.

You could have just made pages of links, and monetized with Adsense, to see if it made more money than the registration cost. I did this years ago and my directory (lists of links) did ok. Google loosely recommend a maximum of 100 links per page. You basically put together a list of website urls, and grab their description meta-tags to use for the content of the page. Like DMOZ.org does. The HTML tags DT and DD are useful for this.

It's a typical webmaster's domain so I would post it for sale (invite offers) at different forums. If you can't sell it, let it drop and move on to better domain names.
