    Hello everyone.

    ChristmasColoringPages.net - Exact Match!

    Google AdSense Keyword Tool Results:
    Keyword: Christmas Coloring Pages

    Thanks, Shenron.

I am planning on developing it - just wanted to see what sort of equity I was starting with.

You could always use the valuate.com estimation of the domain name worth, $390 Best of luck.

    Shenron,
Here's a question for you on domain valuation. How do you come out at $30 on the valuation? If you take his domain name to the Google Adwords tool it shows:
Exact global monthly search volume is 90,5000
Advertisers pay an average of 57 cents a click.

If he were to rank 1st on the term, assume 40 % of the searches to his site?
Assume 40% of the .57 paid to him by Google
    and a 5% ctr,
it would come out to $413 monthly.

The competition is strong, so more likely would be trying to get on the first page for his term (competition weakens towards nr 8-10 on the front page) which isn't quite $413, but would be more than $30.

Just curious on the method you use for domain valuation in order to better follow in your footsteps
    Thanks much.
    Cheers,
    James

I've been a domainer for quite a few years now, therefore I base my valuations upon experience mostly (past sales I've made, past sales I've seen, etc.).

When you valuate a domain you need to differentiate "what you're valuating it for".

    What do I mean?

Well, another domainer won't pay the same amount as an end-user; a name like asdar.com might be useless for a domainer, but if you find an end-user willing to buy that for his own company website you may end up with over $1k on your hands. I always give reseller valuations, not end-user.

About Google adwords... that's another myth, I've never seen close to those number results, specially $ wise and in this particular case I don't trust those "exact match" numbers. Christmas is 2-3 months per year (max), I don't see 90k people searching for Xmas Coloring pages in August.

Ah! and there's yet another factor... it's a .net .

    Shenron,
Thanks! SOunds like its more of a craft or artistic approach rather than a scientific one. But, we know you've been successful, so that's why the q's from me! Appreciate the feedback.

For the April x-mas searches, the Big G lists the past month at 18k, so it must get quite a kick later in the year for Kovich's domain...

    Cheers,
    James
