I've seen a domain I want but someone has registered all variants of it and is charging hundreds for it. They have no intention of developing. What can I do in this situation?
Thanks,

Make your own offer. Sometimes people try to sell a domain for more than it's worth and it just doesn't sell. Then they become inclined to sell it at a lower price rather than not sell it at all.
I rarely make an offer for a domain that is already registered. People always try to ask more that the domain is worth just to see if you will buy it at that price.
I agree with vectro. If you want the domain, make an offer that is reasonable from your perspective. If they don't accept, find another domain.
I did pick up several good domains a few years ago on DP. The seller was offering about 50 crappy web sites at $100 per site. None of them sold. I then offered $10 each for 4 or 5 of the best domains and he sold them. It is hard to predict when someone will accept your offer.

Geesh....lots of people and lots of companies, when they reg a domain, they tend to also reg all tld's of the domain.
And domainers do this and then want money when they sell them.
Check domain sales here, and on so many other forums.
some people do it for its thier business. i even saw an ebook about it and that the owner sends massage to offer the .com to someone who had registered the .net extenson of the domain
It's just a business ... propose him a lower price and maybe he will accept.
It's just a person. Doing nothing with them. I will propose something to him.

Huggle a bit, but if your prices are too far away not much you can do, just get another domain.
If they have been holding on to the domain for a long time, they probably think it's worth a lot of money. As people have said, you never know. I seen people asking outrageous prices for mediocre domains parked for 10+ years. The registers are laughing all the way to the bank.
