Best Domain Extension for SEO

Hello guys,

good topic going here, figured I would ask a question.

I own www.rates.cd

If someone was to look up "cd rates" how will Google look at that in regards to my domain extenion, exact match and seo?

I think that it will be zero bonus for the domain.

i got success with .com --> .org and then -->.net in this order

.com is most widely extension and i always try to get .com if not then i select .net or think anyother domain.

If domain extension really matters then i believe .com ranks highest.

But not to:

silly-putty.com

MSN has a similar exact match bonus, and my guess it that Yahoo does also.

How about global domain extension juts like *.mx?

as far as i know .com is on no. 1 according to seo for general sites. and if you are unable to find .com choice then you have to consider .net aswell.

but if you wanna to make specific regional site then you have need to go with your local TLD.
Exa. :: for india i will go with .in or .co.in tel domains.

if you want to make education site then .edu is best choice

for organization .org is best choice.

finally, seo expert can do well seo with any TLD that dosent matter

Will, are you sure on this? Ever did a test specifically to check whether there is any bonus or not?

Before i had another opinion but now i think .com, .net and .org have the boost. Can be seen easily in SERPs. If you ask me why i will tell you, because .com, .net and .org have authority, are old, cost money, lot of money, there is only 1 domain.com, doesn't matter how many domain extensions will be released in the future.
